In 2006, major employers in Southern Oregon joined forces to support an event to cooperatively support more diversity in the workplace and in the community, as well as support students of color at Southern Oregon University, known as Diversity Scholars. From that, Southern Oregon “Say Hey!” took form and provided a never done before chance for businesses, students, and community members to meet, exchange ideas, and offer learning opportunities from one another. The event was held at Southern Oregon University and provided more than 150 participants, a chance to be change agents in the Rogue Valley.
